Northern Pike near our Fishing Lodge
What a great fly-in pike fishing story from Canada!
It was about 5AM. We just put the boats in the water, and almost the first cast – we caugh the biggest northern pike of the day! Funny thing was – we were only a few feet from the fishing lodge!
After reading the Northern Pike Book, it’s easy to see why were caught so many nice sized northerns on that trip. The weedy area along the shore near our lodge is home to lots of small bait-fish that the pike feed on. Next time I’m pike fishing, I’m trying the tips in the Northern Pike Book, and using some huge lures that I thought were to big to catch any fish… and see what happens…
Now we call that camp our “Northern Pike Fishing Lodge” and I can’t wait to go back!
