Try the YumBuzz frog. I have tried two colors of these so far and they work wonders. (carolina pumpkin/yellow and watermelon red flake.) I bought mine at meijer so you can get them almost anywhere that sells Yum products. Also buy some Gamagatsu size 4 offset hooks. You can even go 1 size higher if you would like to.Make sure the point of the hook is on TOP of the frog not underneath. This is the way i would hook it whether fishing it in weeds or moss. You can use these any time during the day but at sun up and sun down are the best times due to the low light conditions. I have used these for bass and suggest this lure to many people for bass but it works great for pike also.

Good Luck!

For most questions about fly fishing, there is a good chance you will find what you are looking for at Someone else suggested I try it and I found it to be well worth the visit.

Northerns like top water. Usually fire engine red. Trim the third treble on lures to not snag on moss. Slow and noisy. Good luck and God Bless Dan
