Live Bait Regulations

Regulations for Live fishing bait change by location, and sometimes even by the lake. It’s a good idea to purchase your fishing bait locally if you want to use live minnows, leaches or worms.

A good bait shop will know all the local Bait restrictions. Many anglers use live bait, and nothing but – because it is so much more effective than artificial lures. However, it’s important to keep in mind that dead bait is usually avoided so it’s important to keep your bait cool and healthy until you put them on your hook!

It is the northern pike fishing that bring about the most fast action any angler can handle.

They spawn in shallow weedy bays and during spring and summer, and are found in shallow shorelines of weedy bays, marshes and shoals at about 4-6 feet in depth.
